Terri Baker is the author of all the offered guidebooks and reports. She has been going to the Hocking Hills of Ohio for over five decades. Her father bought a little cabin in the woods when she was a little girl and she is the second generation to own it. She has always been the family tour director when they get away for the weekend or take a vacation in the Hocking Hills. She has been a Volunteer Travel Counselor at the Hocking Hills Tourism Association since 1996. She continually updates her knowledge of the Hocking Hills by being involved with this organization.

Lake Logan Marina at the Lake Logan State Park has a new phone number. It is 740-380-2956. Their old number which is still on their website will state that it is disconnected when dialed. This can be very frustrating when one wants to rent a boat during their visit to the Hocking Hills. They rent pontoon boats, row boats, canoes and paddle boats. They also have bait, tackle, and snacks.

Old Man's Cave State Park

Old Man's Cave State Park
Old Man’s Cave State Park is the most well-known and popular of the six parks that make up the Hocking Hills area. It was named after the hermit Richard Rowe who made it his home before the Civil War. Old Man’s Cave is the largest of all the parks in the Hocking Hills.

What has become an annual event is the Washboard Music Festival where the percussion abilities of the washboard come to life in musical groups where it plays a backup and sometimes starring role. The festival takes place this year June 13-15 in Logan, Ohio.

Ash Cave State Park   Picture this: a large natural shelter cave made out of solid stone with a 90 foot waterfall running over the top of it and a “rim” trail around the upper part of it and you might be able to imagine what my favorite park in the Hocking Hills looks like.
