Come to the Parks this July 4th and Get Back to Nature!


Thursday - July 4th - The Wonders of Old Man's Cave - 10 am - Meet the Naturalist at the Naturalist Cabin located behind the Visitor's Center for a short hike at Old Man's Cave State Park, State Route 664 S. Call 740-385-6841 for more information. 

 


Thursday -July 4th - Mokuks & Muzzleloaders -  2 pm - Celebrate our nation's birth and enjoy an afternoon with our historical interpreter as he brings to life what living here was really like for the original Ohioans. There will be American games and crafts as well. Meet at the Naturalist Cabin. Old Man's Cave State Park, State Route 664 S. Call 740-385-6841 for more information. 


Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays through August 31st 

Hand-feeding Hummingbirds at Lake Hope State Park - 10 am - 2 pm. Participants can attempt to hand-feed hummingbirds. Meet at the Lake Hope Nature Center, 27331 State Route 278, McArthur. Call 740-596-3030 for more information. 


Friday -  July 5th - Scalawags & Renegades - 10 am. The Ohio frontier was full of heroes and shady characters. Meet at the Shelter House at Rock House State Park to hike and explore our history. Located on State Route 374 (near State Route 180). Call 740-385-6841 for more information.


Saturday - July 6th - Ridgetops & Hollers - 10 am. Ever wonder what the difference is between a ridgetop and holler? Join the Naturalist at the Ash Cave parking area for a short hike to find out. Ash Cave is on State Route 56 (near State Route 374). Call 740-385-6841 for information. 


Saturday - July 6th - The Naturalist Cabin will be Open - 1 pm. See what life was like for the early settlers of the area. Try your hand at early Appalachian life. Old Man's Cave State Park, State Route 664 S. Call 740-385-6841 for more information.
