Broken Rock Falls

Broken Rock Falls

I have been hiking in the Hocking Hills State Parks for over 5 decades and I have never been to or knew about Broken Rock Falls. So when Pat Quackenbush, the State Park Naturalist, offered a guided hike to Broken Rock Falls, I went.

The trail took us through Old Man's Cave and to the very edge of the park. The literal end of the trail is the falls which was actually just a trickle during the summer. Later when I got home, I saw it is shown on the actual trail map for Old Man's Cave State Park. You can see the map at my Pinterest site and at this link.

While I was there I took a 360 degree video of Broken Rock Falls. As is the case with most of the water falls in Hocking County they flow the most during spring floods and after thunder showers. But the hike to this area of Old Man's Cave was a good experience and one that I will repeat in the spring when more water will be running over the falls.
